Fledeglings Data and Privacy Notice

To carry out our day to day operations and duties, this involves collecting and sharing various means of yours and your child’s personal and sensitive data. Fledgelings have data processes which are compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation Law 2018 (GDPR), to ensure appropriate measures are in place to keep all data secure with legal obligations to protect the vital interests of the data subject and performance of a task carried out in the public interest.

Our Data Protection Officer ‘the controller’ (s), role is to oversee and manage all data is secure in line with current legislation requirements to ensure all Fledglings preventative measures are adhered to, and reflected upon in our robust policies and procedures which provide families and employee’s clear information about GDPR and their individual rights to access their data and awareness of their right to withdraw their consent at any time. All consents for data processing are freely given.

Fledgelings Day Nursery is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) which holds codes of practice, guides and references on current UK legislation and registers organisations. Fledgelings has a legal obligation to notify the ICO of a data breach within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach, notifying the individual’s involved. You have the right to lodge a complaint to the Information Commissioners Office (ICO), please refer to www.ico.org.uk and Fledgelings policies and procedures for further information.

We are currently collating Fledgelings ‘Information asset register/risk assessment’ which parent/carers can view at any time. This will explain – the data subject, description/purpose, type of data, how it is collected, what is it used for, legal basis for using it, where is it stored, who is this shared with (including international transfers), who can access this, how long is it kept?
